The Absolute Sound reviews the Pienza series 2
Pienza Series 2
The new Pienza Series 2 is a mostly re-thought and redesigned system which takes the performance of our slim design bookshelf up to the next level, performing well above its physical size. It's always impressed, but now its even more seductive and elegant.
Like its sibling Certaldo, the Pienza features a highly sophisticated enclosure where a blend of mechanically different materials help render the cabinet still and inert, allowing wonderfully accurate and detailed drivers to operate with utmost clarity and dynamics.
The Smallest Rosso Fiorentino: a Modern Day David
The Pienza series 2 is a small speaker by design - they aren't called mini-monitors without reason. That's why sometimes the sound that emanates from these little gems can be quite dumbfounding. Usually small speakers sound, well, small. That isn't the case here! With a surprising sonic weight to buoy the sound, the listener is left with a full-bodied presentation with intricate and textured sound that can easily bring a small to medium sized room to life.
